The most popular female tattoo by far is the butterfly tattoo. Butterfly tattoos come in a large variety of sizes and shapes. The butterfly tattoo is one of the most popular designs after the cross, star, and the tribal tattoo and they are probably the most popular design for women. This tattoo design is feminine and pretty without being too sentimental or flowery.

Butterfly Tattoos
Britney Spears
For most people a tattoo represents a very personal experience that only they know the real meaning of and Britney is no exception. She has around nine tattoos and the choice of her tattoo designs, such as the fairy and the butterfly, is certainly similar to tattoos that thousands of other women have and are not overly unique. She does seem to have a preference for rather small tattoos.
The most famous tattoo that Britney sports is a tattoo of a fairy, located on her lower back. The meaning of a fairy is intended to be childlike behavior, many people think that this particular tattoo is meant to represent her desire to hang onto to her youth. Regardless of what she means it to represent, it is certainly a symbol of youth. Usually, fairies are beautiful creatures that have supernatural powers. A fairy may appear to be lovely, however, they can also have a dark side and falling in love with a fairy can be a deadly affair.

You have not seen my tattoo
Due to the ever increasing popularity of tattoos, it is getting harder and harder to pick one for yourself that is completely unique.
If you walk into any tattoo parlor you will see samples on the walls, sample books filled with pictures of tattoos, and each artist probably has their own book with drawings and samples for you to choose from. While most of those pictures and samples are great ideas and great images of detailed fine tattoo art, not all of them can be considered unique. Afterall if they are showing you those pictures and asking you to choose from one, isn’t there a chance someone else has been in the same place you are and they could have chosen the same picture you are choosing?

What Is A Tattoo?
A tattoo is an insertion of ink into the skin normally using a needle. The needle is inserted deeply into the skin and the wound is then filled with ink usually forming a pattern or design. There are different layers to the skin, the epidermis (top layer), dermis (layer below) and the sebaceous gland. The reason tattoos remain permanent is because the ink is inserted into the dermis and dermis cells are very stable. Tattoos have been around for a long time since 1769 in fact but back then they used to do them manually. The tattoo artist would puncture the skin with a standard needle then inject the ink by hand. This tattooing method is still used in few countries around the world although now a tattooing machine is popularly used. A tattooing machine is a needle attached to a tube containing ink. The machines tend to be powered by a foot pedal and controlled by the steady hand of a tattoo artist. This drives the ink about 1/8 of the way into your skin which is approximately 3 millimetres. Not going far enough into the skin can cause a ragged tattoo that can fade drastically over time. Going too far into the skin will cause excessive pain and bleeding, but most professional tattoo artists know how far to go.

Tattoos have never looked so good
If you’re into tattoos or the tattooed or even tattooing, you should have heard of Kat Von D by now. She’s the star of LA Ink and runs a very popular tattoo parlor there in Los Angeles.
Starting her love for tattoos at the early age of 16, she is now covered in tattoos that have been done by her, by professionals, and by friends of hers that just wanted to try out tattooing for the first time.
Being as popular as she is, what with her own store and her own show, one has to wonder: how can they compete with her tattoos in Los Angeles? There are plenty of places to get tattoo’d in LA but why would you want to go anywhere else than the place where you can get the best tattoo available? And get it from Kat, of all people? Some people might even be inclined to fly to LA from the east coast just to get a tattoo from Kat, even if it’s a tiny tattoo. Although it would probably be worth it to get something large and time consuming, just to be able to sit there and chat with her for awhile and pic her brain on the topic of tattoos, tv shows, and running a tattoo parlor.

Taking care of your tattoo
Tattoos are a perfect way to literally make a mark on your body that reflects your personality. It’s a way of being individual and unique and can take years to come up with your favourite design! But although tattoos are fun, arty, beautiful and creative there are also some safety precautions needed to be taken for a period of time after your tattoo has been applied, to ensure your safety until the tattoo has healed. Temporary tattoos are easy to have removed whereas permanent tattoos need plenty of maintenance and care. You have to take major care that they do not get infected. Most popular tattoos involve full sleeve tattoos, back tattoos, upper arm or shoulder tattoos.

Zodiac tattoos
A lot of people out there have zodiac tattoos. Some people do it as they have a strong belief in astrology and the stars. Some people do it to have their star sign on show at all times. Some do it as it looks good, and is a good design. For whatever reason people do it, it sure is a popular decision. A majority of these people have there own zodiac sign, but soon have others. Simply because the design suits them better, but some wear their partners zodiac signs on their skin, as a symbol that they will be together forever. Some choose zodiac signs based on what astrology may be saying at the time, such that there can be love matches made by reading astrology. In astrology there are signs that should be perfect together and signs that don’t work. If you follow astrology you may wear the sign of your soul mate.

It has been said time and time again that people are human and we make mistakes. “To err is human, to forgive divine” or something along those lines. However, when it comes to forgiving yourself for some mistake you’ve brought upon yourself, is it really that easy? How can you forgive yourself for a big mistake like dating someone you really shouldn’t have been dating when you have to look at a tattoo of their name on your shoulder every day in the mirror? It can make it pretty tough to forgive and forget, right? Well then it’s a good things we have laser tattoo removal services all over the place now!

No That Is Not My Shirt
Sleeve tattoos, once the marker for the asian Yakuza crime family, are now very popular forms of tattoo to be seen on just about anyone who wants to have one.
The sleeve tattoo usually goes from about the shoulder down to wrist level, generally the length of a long sleeve shirt, which is where the name comes from. Within a sleeve tattoo, many different designs can be placed, adding to the value of one of these tattoos, especially for a person who has multiple designs in mind for a tattoo. If there are three or four or five different images or designs you would like to have on your body, you can have an artist find a way to incorporate all of them into the same sleeve on the same arm, making them all look like one unified wonderful piece of art.

Are Tats Risky: Risks & Removal
Tattoos are fairly safe and it is very unlikely anything will go wrong. But there is a small chance with everything for it to go wrong and you should always be aware of any risks you might be taking. If equipment used for your tattoo isn’t sterilised or disinfected properly you are opening your skin to all kinds of disease or irritation such as hepatitis or dermatitis. This is why you should always go to a licensed tattoo studio, and if you can, go to a tattoo studio that is well known, and make sure you know people who have had tattoos there before. Just to be on the safe side.
