A number of celebrity couples have taken their love a step further by getting tattoos to symbolise their feelings for each other. Unfortunately, the couples listed in this article have since split, leaving them with a rather embarrassing piece of bodyart that the media have highlighted online, in magazines and television.

Celebrity Couple 1: Angelina Jolie and Timothy Hutton

The Tattoo (#1): Acquired a tattoo of “H” for her then-boyfriend Timothy Hutton on the inside of her left wrist

The Relationship (#1): Broke up before an engagement or marriage.

Tattoo Status (#1): She now says the “H” refers to her brother James Haven

Celebrity Couple 2: Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton

The Tattoo (#2): Then-husband’s Billy Bob Thornton’s name “Billy Bob” in a “private” place and one across her upper arm. He got her first name “Angelina” tattooed on his bicep.

The Relationship (#2): His 4th marriage and her 2nd marriage ended after 3 years.

Tattoo Status (#2): Billy Bob Thornton reportedly covered it up with a angel and the word “Peace”. She was rumored to be removing “several” tattoos in 2002 & 2003

 

Celebrity Couple 3: Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

The Tattoo: Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee married 4 days after they started dating, and when they returned to Los Angeles they exchanged tattoos instead of wedding bands. Pamela Anderson tattooed “Tommy” onto her ring finger. Tommy Lee tattooed “Pamela” onto his penis.

The Relationship: Divorced; Pamela later announced she contracted Hepatitis C from sharing a tattoo needle with Tommy Lee.

Tattoo Status: Shortly after Pamela Anderson filed assault charges and divorced Tommy Lee, she modified the tattooed name “Tommy” to read “Mommy”.

Reportedly, Pamela Anderson also insisted Tommy Lee remove his tattoo of “Heather” (referring to his ex-wife Heather Locklear) and so he changed it to “Eather”.

 

Celebrity Couple 4: Britney Spears and Kevin Federline

The Tattoo: Britney Spears has a pink dice tattoo in tribute to 2nd husband Kevin Federline, who has blue dice tattooed on his body.

The Relationship: The pair split on 03/29/2007 and have an on-going custody battle for their children.

Celebrity Couple 5: Jude Law and Sadie Frost

The Tattoo: Referring to his then-wife Sadie, “You came along to turn on everything, Sexy Sadie” across arm,

The Relationship: The two were married in 1997 and divorced in 2003.

Tattoo Status: Reported to be removing it in September 2003.
