The folks in Tahoe may want to start scrounging up their pennies, or doing whatever they can to pull some extra cash together if they have been thinking about getting a tattoo. From Tuesday to Wednesday of this week, The Electric Pencil will be holding a ‘Tattooed for Good’ marathon fundraiser.

The fundraiser is going to last a total of 24 hours straight, and will begin at noon on Tuesday and finish at noon on Wednesday. The efforts are to raise money for the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center. (SLTWC). The owner of the parlor, Kat Adlerz will be the artist in question, and having dealt with similar issues herself, she wants to help the Center and the women that use it.

“I wanted to give something back, and this is how I can do it, plus make a lot of people happy. I would like to do this once a month for different organizations,” Adlerz said.

Clients that wish to participate in this event will be able to choose from a variety of designs that are on a pre-set list. You can do this, choose something from the wall, or bring in your own design. Kat hopes to be able to fit in three people an hour if the designs are small enough and not intricate.

And other businesses are hopping on board. Fat City is going to provide snacks and Mad About Music, a business in the same shopping center as The Electric Pencil, will be providing music until the wee hours. The tattoos will be given on a first come first served basis. You can find The Electric Pencil at 2540 Lake Tahoe Blvd or call .
