Scarification is a term that is used to describe the act of scarifying. Scarifying involves scratching, etching, or some sort of superficial cutting or incision as a form of perminant body modification, akin to tattooing. Scarification has been around for hundreds of years, dating back to the slave trade, but is becoming increasingly popular in today’s society as an extreme form of bodyart, taking tattooing to a new level.
