Mena Suvari first burst onto the screen a decade ago as the teenage cheerleader in American Beauty – and the striking young actress has obviously not lost the knack of turning heads.
Mena was married at a relatively young age to the cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, but they got divorced over three years ago. She has kept a relatively low profile since her star role as the precocious high school cheerleader Angela Hayes who so flummoxed Kevin Spacey in the 1999 Oscar-winner. More recently, she successfully starred on the big screen in The Garden Of Eden, a film based on the Ernest Hemingway novel. In it she played the protagonist’s wife to respectable acclaim.
Adding to her portfolio of success and collection of big name co-stars, she is set to appear in another film: You May Not Kiss The Bride, starring the gorgeous Vinnie Jones. This one is due to be released in 2010.
Earlier this year, Ms Suvari was spotted with her partner, Simone Sesito, flaunting her notable figure in a bikini that left little to the imagination while on holiday in Mexico. Suvari began dating Sesito last year after they met at the Toronto International Film Festival while she was promoting her film Stuck.
Photos of Mena on the beach reveal a brand new tattoo just below her cleavage of the number 13. It turns out this is a number considered lucky by many. It also transpires that this is a matching tattoo. Simone Sestito, her new fiance, has a matching inking on the left side of his upper chest.
Suvari has two other tattoos. One depicts the face of a lion and is etched on the base of her neck and another is a script which reads ‘Word Sound Power’. Not too sure what that one is supposed to mean though…
