I am diabetic and very much concerned about this issue on tattooing. I have one on my back but someone have told me not to have tattoos as I am diabetic. By searching over Google, I have got many different thoughts, some are in favor and some in not. In Addition to diabetes, I have read about heart patients who already gone through surgeries, they shouldn't go for tattoos. This is very confusing at the moment and I am looking for some good news.

Hi Eric,
I've never heard about tattoos affective diabetic people. Perhaps the adrenaline rush lowering your sugar levels?
Speak to your GP or a diabetic specialist and if you are going ahead...take your insuline with you and monitor your sugar levels whilst you are getting it done!

Where as I know the diabetic and heart patient should not have a tattoo paint on their body.Specially the diabetic patient. It becomes hard to heal their wounds .I love to have a tattoo paint on my body but just because I am a diabetic patient I could not do this.

Is that because of the sugar levels in your blood? This is the first time I have heard about diabetics being at greater risk...my friend is a diabetic and has many tattoos!
