Rappers and Face Tattoos

Rappers have had a long standing relationship with ink, although tattoos on the face are a new phenomenon. Tech N9ne chose to wear a tattoo with removable paint which seems to have started something, but some rappers have now started to have the designs on their faces done in permanent ink.

Gucci Mane, never one to disappoint in the shock department, decided to have an ice cream cone tattooed on his cheek. The design runs the length of his face from his eye to his chin. Before this he had three tear drops on the opposite side of his face under his eye.

Soulja Boy seems to like quite a collection of tattoos on his face; he has one design over his eyebrow that reads “SODMG” or “Stacks on Deck Money Gang”, and also a Chinese symbol trailing down one eye. These symbols can mean “Peace and Prosperity” or they can mean “Beef with Broccoli”, no one is quite sure what they mean exactly. Below his chin he once had a design saying Soulja Boy.

Rapper Birdman, decided to celebrate the release of his album Star Stunna by having red stars all over his head. Before this he is another rapper that had just the typical tear drops. The fact that Birdman has a bald head makes the star design more prominent. Of course if ever he gets bored with the star design, he can grow his hair!

Lil’ Wayne, is another rapper that likes his ink. He has “Fear” on one eyelid and “God” on the other eyelid. He certainly doesn’t fear tattoo needles, with the tattooed tears, once again running down his face. He also has a C (for Carter) in between his eyes with a cross above the C with “I AM MUSIC” written over his one eyebrow in red. He also has a tattoo tracing the veins on his head, to give the illusion of the head cracking open. All of these Tattoos on the head are minimal compared to the designs he has from the chin down.
