In Fort Worth, it is not the young girls that are making headlines with their odd tattoos, it’s Grandma Hammond, also known as Shirley, or ‘Miss Dixie’. If you like the look of tattoos, but aren’t quite sure you are up for the pain of getting one, you may be happy to hear that now you can make fake tattoos right in your own home at your own printer. You can make as many as you want in any design that you want including pictures of someone, any of your own drawings, or any picture you find on the Internet. I ran across this tattoo and I couldn’t help but wonder….what was this person thinking? Well, unless we actually meet the person who had this done, which we likely won’t, chances are we will never find out. But this tattoo of a garden chair may just be an excellent example of what may one day be buyer’s remorse. **here’s hoping** Thinking about this led me to wonder about tattoo removal. Laura Eastwood is one woman who most in her circle would consider to be the least likely to get a tattoo. However when she wanted an accessory to match her Gucci cocktail dress for an evening out, she thought maybe a tattoo of the not so permanent kind would make for an interesting conversation piece. So she stopped into Linda Mason’s boutique in SoHo to see what she could come up with, and the end result was a stamped on constellation of tattoo-press ons, only these were press-ons that were slightly less permanent even than hair extensions or press-on nails. It seems that stretch marks are not the only things these days that are lasting reminders of a child’s birth for today’s mom. Gone are the days of phone book sized photo albums being lugged out of mom’s purses as well. Today’s mom is etching herself with permanent reminders of their babies. You won’t see today’s mum with anchors, snakes or skulls, or even hearts with birthdates….the mom of 2008 is replacing these standard tattoo symbols with baby footprints, Teddy bears, and the occasional Disney princess. But today’s mom and dads are getting more creative in the merge of their children with body art as time passes on… (more…)

Ashlee Simpson Considering a Tattoo

It seems like just about everywhere you turn in Hollywood, someone is either getting married or having a baby. Well, for Ashlee Simpson, she’s been there for one, and on the way there for the other. Ashlee announced an unplanned pregnancy earlier this year, and shortly after that, she and baby daddy Pete Wentz went and tied the knot in what many considered to be a rush ceremony. (more…)
