Dragon tattoos are one of the most popular tattoos because of their mythological meaning. The dragon descends from various mythological legends and there are tales of fire breathing winged creatures that are large and powerful.

Dragon tattoos are most popular amongst men, but women do have dragon tattoos. People have the dragon tattoo for different reasons and they have different meanings for different people and it just depends how the individual sees them as to what design they choose.
A mans reason for choosing the dragon tattoo is usually to symbolise strength, courage, raw power and force. Some men see themselves as the guardian and protector of their loved one’s and the dragon tends to symbolize protection.

A woman who decides to have a dragon tattoo will in general have a dragon tattoo to symbolise, her role as protector, creator and strength giver. They see the dragon as the protector of life as in her children and the creator as in the birth of children. They see the strength of the dragon as representing the strength in themselves.

Everyone has their own reasons for choosing a Dragon Tattoo but this kind of Tattoo is becoming increasingly popular with both sexes and also people over the age of 30!
