David Beckham is well known for his fashion sense as well as his tattoos and his undoubted ability on the football pitch. David started playing with Manchester United before going to play for Real Madrid and then on to America to play for the US Major Soccer league in LA Galaxy.   It doesn’t matter what David does on the football field as the discussion always returns to his tattoos and his sense of fashion. Most of his tattoos have been done by Louis Malloy from Manchester, one of the most prominent tattoo artists in the United Kingdom.

David has had several pieces of ink over the years and one consists of the name of his first born child, Brooklyn, across his lower back. The name of his second born child Romeo is tattooed just below the base of his neck and the name of his third son Cruise is placed just below the guardian angel on David’s back.
David has a large figure on his back with outstretched arms, the figure sits between his shoulder blades and the wing span has been expanded – he calls this his Guardian Angel.

When David was in the midst of the 2004 UEFA Cup, he flew the United Kingdom tattoo artist Louis Malloy in to do the designs on the back of his neck. There were some mixed reactions in the British press and some said he looked like a hooligan with his shaved head and tattoos.  He had some further work done in Hong Kong in 2008 and the tattoo design goes all down the left side of his torso. It is in Mandarin Chinese and it reads “Death and life have determined appointments; Riches and honours depend upon heaven”.

In January 2010 David had a design inspired by the painting “The Man of Sorrows”, by Matthew R Brook. This is inked on his lower ribs.
He also has a lot of designs on his left arm that are said to focus on his wife Victoria and his personal life. Victoria’s name is inked in Hindi script. Below this is a Latin phrase, “Ut Amen Et Foveam”, this translates “so that I Love and Cherish”
