Madonna’s Tattoos

It appears that the mystery surrounding Madonna only grows when it comes to her tattoos.  It’s the one thing even Google can’t find a straight answer for, though every celebrity tattoo blogger seems to think they know.  Madonna is a woman all her own; one that no one else ever can or will come close to, no matter how hard they try.  The only thing anyone knows for sure is that Madonna is a fan of Henna, and has been seen with a variety of Henna tattoos on several occasions.

So, what tattoos does Madonna have?  Does she really have any?  Question, doubt, and speculation still exist, but this is what we’ve managed to find so far.

Hebrew Tattoos

Our sources (okay, the internet) say that it’s almost positive that Madonna has a tattoo on her right shoulder.  The problem is, the only real images of this tattoo are from her “Die Another Day” video, which leads one to question whether or not it’s real or just part of her costume.  The tattoo, real or not, made for some real controversy in the religious world.  To most people, the symbols don’t look like much, but they are actually Hebrew letters.  The symbols “lamed,” “alef,” and “vav” spell out one of the names for God as written in the Hebrew Kabbalah.

Any and all tattoos having to do with religion bring up controversy and religious leaders often lash out.  In Madonna’s case it was an even bigger deal because she’s, well, Madonna.  In fact, a quick Google search will pull up a website in which Madonna’s tattoo is addressed, and people are told that it is, “Not kosher.”

Ohm

Another tattoo that Madonna is believed to have is the “Ohm” symbol on the palm of her hand.  This is another religious symbol; a Hindu symbol with a meaning so deep that it cannot be put into words.  This is the sound chanted during meditation that ancient yogis believed would put one in sync with the universe.  Why another religious symbol; especially one from a totally different religion?  No idea; though there wasn’t a lot of backlash about this particular tattoo.

Madonna’s Derriere

It’s incredible how many blogs, forums, and Q&A chats have revolved around Madonna’s rump.  There has been a lot of speculation about whether or not Madonna has a tattoo in this particular area, as well as what it is.  It seems that the general consensus is that her derriere does bear a tattoo, and that it is one of two things.  It seems that the argument is split 50/45, with the remaining 5% swearing that Madonna’s behind is completely tattoo-free.

Some reports claim that Madonna has a face tattooed back there, though not a single person knows whose face it is.  It’s hard to say where this claim even originated, so we’re thinking it’s probably not true.  Those who don’t agree with the face-on-rear theory say that she has initials tattooed back there.  “MP” is what the claim is; tiny initials that stand for, “Madonna’s Property.”  If anything, they should stand for “Madonna’s Privacy,” because the secrecy surrounding her tattoos is astounding.  How many paparazzi does it take to get to Madonna’s tattoos?  The world may never know.
